Kids, bring your favorite grown-ups for a day of art at LCA from 1-3 PM! Spend time safely in our galleries with our educational docents viewing our newest exhibition, “Citizen,” and join us for free snacks and art making. Artist, William Estrada will be joining us to teach us about screen printing and to help you make your own print. All are welcome!

This sappy, in every sense, based-on-a-true story drama tells the story of how Irish landscape designer Mary Reynolds came to compete at the 2002 Chelsea Flower Show.

South Shore Arts doors are open for a free, family-friendly afternoon open house! Come visit our classroom spaces and tour our art galleries. Watch live ceramic and painting demonstrations in the studios and participate in a printmaking workshop! Be the first to sign up for spring classes and summer camps. In the Main Gallery tour the exhibit, Sense and Sensibility: Poetry in Painting and shop local artwork & handmade goods in the Gift Shop.

Dunes Learning Center - Nature Photography

Date and time: Sunday, March 12, 1-3:30 pm

Explore our National Park in a fun and exciting way!  Join the Dunes Learning Center team in a two and a half hour program packed with fun. We will start our time together at Dunes Learning Center learning from local photography expert Donna Lind.  After that, we will travel to the National Park Service Portage Lakefront trail.  There we will go on a guided photography hike along the shore of Lake Michigan.

The photography walk will be around 1 hour and take place on relatively flat terrain and a paved trail.  Please be prepared to have your personal transportation from Dunes Learning Center to Portage Lakefront Trail.  National Park day passes will be provided to all participants for parking and Portage Lakefront Trail. This event is limited to participants 18 years of age and older.

$15 per person, for adults ages 18+

Valparaiso Creative Council - Request For Proposals: Skatepark Artwork

Project Overview:

The VCC has partnered with the Valparaiso Parks Department to showcase Northwest Indiana artists in the Valparaiso Skatepark. The artwork must be edgy and tasteful, capturing the theme of the park and the skater community while staying true to the artist’s style. We are seeking artists who work in the medium of producing sculptures and/or skateboard deck artwork for a skater’s wall.
