South Shore Arts is thrilled to launch NWI Homeschool Art Classes! 

We look forward to making this a creative, engaging, and inspiring opportunity for homeschool families throughout our community.

We will continue to grow the program throughout the year by offering new classes, projects, and artistic mediums for each age group, giving students exciting opportunities to learn, create, and discover something new.

NWI Homeschool Art Classes- Drawing Fundamentals, Kindergarten-2nd 

Mondays, 10-12, 4 weeks, October 5-26, $80, Studio C
Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of drawing, including lines, shapes, forms, observation, proportion, value, texture, and composition. Students will work with a variety of drawing media, including oil pastels, chalk, pencil, graphite, and selective color in guided lessons and demonstrations. Students will build their skills while learning different techniques and approaches to drawing. All materials are included.

NWI Homeschool Art Classes- Watercolor Technique, 3rd -5th grade

Mondays, 10-12, 4 weeks, October 5-26, $80, Studio C
Students will explore color theory and watercolor techniques while building their understanding of value, layering, color mixing, depth, and composition. Through guided instruction and hands-on projects, students will work with Watercolor pencils, salt, rubbing alcohol, creating figures using abstract forms. All materials are included.

NWI Homeschool Art Classes- Ceramic Studio, 6-8th grade
Mondays, 10-12, 4 weeks, October 5-26, $80, Studio A
Students will be introduced to hand-building techniques while developing their understanding of form, function, design, and surface decoration. Students will create an original ceramic piece and finish their work with glaze. (once pieces are fired, they will be available for pickup)

NWI Homeschool Art Classes- Wheel Throwing, 9-12th grade
Mondays, 1-3pm, 4 weeks, October 5-26, $80, Studio A
This four-week ceramics class introduces high school students to the wheel where students will work on learning proper wheel techniques, including centering, shaping, and controlling clay through instruction and demonstration.
