Something Deeply Hidden: A Solo Exhibition by Wes Thorn
Opening reception January 10, 4-6pm
January 10 – February 21, 2026
1040 Ridge Road, Munster, IN
South Shore Arts is proud to present Something Deeply Hidden, a solo exhibition by Northwest Indiana Artist, Wes Thorn. Featuring over 20 recent artworks, this exhibition brings together a series of geometric abstractions that invite viewers to look beneath the surface of order, symmetry, and color. The works, composed of precise forms and layered fields, operate like visual equations—suggesting that what appears simple and direct may conceal entire worlds of meaning.
The show will open on January 10, 2026 with an artist reception from 4 - 6pm at the South Shore Arts Atrium gallery, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, IN. Light refreshments and wine will be provided. All South Shore Arts exhibitions are free and open to the public.
In Something Deeply Hidden, Thorn gestures to both the physics and philosophy of the unseen forces that govern matter and the subconscious. Within each painting, grids, lines, and blocks of color interact in ways that evoke varying tensions within the viewers.
Rather than offering fixed interpretations, this exhibition encourages sustained looking. The eye follows edges and intersections only to encounter new and previously unseen patterns. “Each composition becomes less static with prolonged reflection, opening up in to a portal that brings forth thought, memory, and sensation.”
