The South Shore Arts Teen Arts Board (TAB) is an extra-curricular art enrichment program for teen artists looking to be a Creative Leader in their own life and in the lives of others. This advanced art program is best suited for those who are passionate and comfortable communicating through and about creative culture. The Teen Arts Board facilitates essential experiences that aim to support young artists refine their creative process, build upon their portfolio, and advance their resume– paving the way to a sustainable future in the arts.

A main component of the program each season is the completion of a public works project that is collaboratively designed, created, and promoted by the members of the Teen Arts Board. Future illustrators, designers, historians, and exhibiting artists will work collaboratively within their peer group and under the guidance of qualified artists and educators, to design and deliver a program or piece of artwork that is to be for and to be seen by others—such as permanent public art installation or community outreach project.

The TAB is a FREE year-long program for future professional artists who wish to broaden their horizons through the humanities. The board aims to consist of 10-20 members, with representation from each area high school. Emerging artists will be provided with tools and meaningful resources that are necessary when starting and a career in the arts.

Each school year, the Teen Arts Board members participate in visioning sessions, to decide whether they will publish a zine, curate gallery exhibitions, participate in arts-related field experience, connect with professional artists, paint a mural or do something completely different that we never would have thought of without you.
