Our annual Juried Art Exhibition is in its 31st year and received 131 artist applications, with 74 out of the 171 submitted pieces being selected, making that a 30% acceptance rate for this year's exhibition.
The Juried Art Exhibition Reception is one that is always vibrant and well attended, and we hope artists, families, friends, and community members are able to attend. Look forward to a cash bar, light bites, and our award ceremony!
The purpose of this long-standing exhibition is to promote the creation and recognition of original quality 2-dimensional works of art, as well as ceramic arts. The exhibition attracts entries from established and aspiring artists from Northwest Indiana, Chicago suburbs and Southwest Michigan and beyond.
This years diverse team of jurors are working, teaching artists whose experience aligns directly with our educational mission, ensuring the highest standards and integrity. Betty Carr, an upcoming Guest Artist and master painter in the American Impressionist Society, Sarah Rehmer, a previous Guest Artist and Chicago-based encaustic artist, and Amy Palatnick (Amy the Potter), a California-based potter and online instructor.
Art Barn provides numerous purchase and merit awards for the Juried Art Exhibit, totaling $5,000. All proceeds generated from this exhibition, aside from awards, support Art Barn School of Art educational programs and exhibitions.
