Sand: A Migrating Performance in 4 Parts features choreography by Kristina Isabelle, dramaturg Melli Hoppe, sound media artist Elise Kermani, and sand creature by Pilgrim Heidi Kambitsch. The series is inspired by the play Sacred Sands: A Play for Voices, written by David Hoppe, and the book Sacred Sands: The Struggle for Community in the Indiana Dunes, written by J. Ronald Engel. Filmed by Diana Quiñones Rivera.

Featured performers:  Kristina Isabelle, Rachel Ferring, Sarah Gonsiorowski, Angela Luem, Cara Sabin, and Jannah Schwartz.  The June 22nd performance will feature Walkabout Theater and the South Shore Dance Alliance.  

The work will culminate with a dance film by Elise Kermani and shot by Diana Quiñones Rivera featuring live performers choreographed by Kristina Isabelle and dramaturg Melli Hoppe.

All evenings can be viewed as one complete performance experience or you can follow the evolution of the production by catching each iteration.

Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk - Indiana Dunes National Park 

This summer solstice performance incorporates the audio tour of the play Sacred Sands: A Play for Voices recorded by Dan Schaaf.  
As well as performers from the South Shore Dance Alliance and Walkabout Theater. 

Part 4:  Succession/Migration
July 20 at 7:00pm

Tryon Farm, 1500 Tryon Rd. Michigan City

Part 4 culminates the work into a film projected on the barn at Tryon Farm with live performers.
