Watercolor artist, Lee Bauman unveils her new exhibit, “A Symphony of Color,” at the Village Gallery on Sunday, April 14. The palette for the paintings was inspired by the colors of stage lighting and the energy of live musical performances. Lee will give a gallery talk at the Meet the Artist Reception, which is free and open to the public, at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 14. The exhibit will be on display at The Village Gallery through May 16.
Her recent artistic journey documents and celebrates snippets of time from her work as the executive director for the LaPorte County Symphony Orchestra. “My life is rich in musical experiences. I developed an artistic urge to express in a series of paintings the warmth that is created from musicians,” Lee shares. Golden hues and yellow washes combine with warm red tones to enhance the look of the instruments and performers while the contrast of dark shadows or black attire increase the intensity and contrast seen in the details.
Lee earned a degree in Fine Arts and Business and is a member of Duneland Plein Air Painters. In addition to following her personal artistic passions, Lee is a graphic artist, art teacher and community volunteer.
