Workshop concludes with optional spoken word by participants.

In honor of Women's History Month (March) and National Poetry Month (April), former Highland Poet Laureate Janine Harrison will read work from her collection, Weight of Silence, and other poems, focusing upon the history and current condition of womanness internationally.

A Q&A and book signing will follow. One hundred percent of poet's and press proceeds from Weight of Silence will be donated to the not-for-profit organization, Haitian Connection, to help women and children in rural western Haiti.
