An exhibition of art works by Laurie LeBreton
October 29 – November 27th
Closing Reception: November 27th at 10:30 a.m.
Laurie LeBreton grew up in a household full of wonderful woodcraft made by my father. She has continued in his tradition, making art happily, but very casually. Laurie made mixed media sculptures, incorporating wooden blocks, plastic figures, popsicle sticks, beads and various other offbeat items. Her pieces of art have been exhibited widely in the Chicago area, across the country and internationally. In her 40s, Laurie was introduced to artists’ books and I took her first art classes since elementary school. After taking courses at the Penland School of Crafts, she began graduate school in the book and paper arts at Columbia College in Chicago, achieving her got my MFA in 2010.
