The Village Gallery will showcase the fine art works of 12 Valparaiso University Junior art majors. 60 Credits: Valparaiso University Junior Exhibition was juried by Richard Brauer, Professor Emeritus of Valparaiso University and Director of the university’s Brauer Museum of Art.

Works depict a variety of mediums and styles, all addressing the various goals and priorities of each artist.  There are 24 works chosen by Professor Brauer.  “I like artworks that provoke and clarify ideas and provide beauty.” states Brauer.  These pieces represent mediums including photography, print work, drawing and painting.

The exhibit kicks off with A Meet the Artist Reception on Sunday, October 28 at 1:30 p.m. The students will give a gallery talk at the reception, which is free and open to the public. The exhibit can be viewed at The Village Gallery through December 6.  The exhibiting artists are Ashley Borg, Mary Egan, Autumn Fagenbaum, Elle Howard, Nicole Jones, Andrea’ Kutemeier, Nicole Lubarski, Aaron Melendez-Castro, Jordan Pagel, Anna Styrczula, Nina Tadic and Claire Utzinger.

 The Village Gallery is a non-profit art gallery at Pines Village Retirement Communities offering artistic experiences to the community to enhance its appreciation and understanding of various art forms and to give support and recognition to artists. Located at 3303 Pines Village Circle, the gallery is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
