This is an inventive way to acquire even more wheel throwing techniques, whether you are a beginner, revisiting the wheel, in need of minimal guidance, or a curious expert! This class will provide you with a wide range of support as well as pottery strategies to consider. All experiences welcome

Develop skills and learn various wheel-throwing techniques through demonstration, whole-group, and one-on-one instruction. Course fee includes 25lb clay, glazes, and regular kiln firing. This class is a second offering of Intro to Wheel Throwing and does not have any prerequisites.

In this fun 3D class, learners will explore Art in the form of masks, animals, figures, using paper mache, wire, plaster wrap and delightful surprises. This is not a clay-based class, rather a course on 3D form in a variety of hands-on, tactile materials. This is a great foundation for emerging out of the 2D flat world of creation for kids.

For attendees who have taken 2-3 ceramics classes, are currently enrolled in a Spring class, and have instructor approval, the add-on discount is available. Independent Study provides upwards of 20 extra hours per week to work on your projects outside of class instruction. Consider adding this option for Spring! Independent Study hours will be provided after registration and are currently displayed in our studios for reference.

Explore exaggerated portraits and cartooned characters of people, animals as well as imaginative creatures. Learn how to draw, ink, and color each portrait you create. Work independently at your own pace in an open studio format encouraging peer collaboration and community. This is a growth-centered opportunity to utilize studio space and materials, as well as bring your own. A visiting artist will also provide insight, peer reviews, and a chance to learn new creative strategies.

Still Life + Plein Air Studies

In this fun offering attendees will merge both ceramics and mixed media for a fun CREATIVE COLLISION! Start in Studio A with Julia where you’ll hand build or wheel throw your own custom pottery. Then join Joze in Studio B to create a custom plant macrame design for your pot. The cost covers both experiences over an 8-week period. Add your own plant and find a special place at home to hang this lovely project!
